Healthy Eating Meal Plans

Important Dates and Info:
Wednesday February 7th - CJP Science Fair
Friday February 9th - Group of Seven Art is due

Smaller Tasks (these will be checked for completion on Friday, February 9th):

-French Class Mascot (VJ)

Classroom Learning 
Today we learned about the food guide and proper portions required for healthy eating. The class was divided into 4 groups and each group created a meal plan for one day, using the food guide to ensure that they had the correct number of servings for each food type, according to their age group. Then they were asked to create a "plate" and draw out one of their meals (breakfast, dinner, or lunch), showing how the food should be properly portioned. We are going to continue to work on this next week, along with a very exciting activity that will look at the salt and sugar content in different foods!

Discuss with your child how you could use the food guide to plan your grocery shopping trip each week.
