Classroom Learning
To celebrate the 100th day of school, students from a neighbouring school came to work with several different classrooms. We had 24 guests in our classroom, and each partnered up with a student from our class. They worked together to create a survey question, survey 50 different people, and then create fractions from their survey. They converted fractions to /100, created a 100 grid to reflect their survey (complete with a legend), and then created a table showing fractions and decimals (as well as ratios and percentages for our Grade 6's) and a number line using their data from the survey. It was a whirl wind of an afternoon, but we had a great time with our guests and lots of fun with this mini-project!
