Classroom Learning
In Social Studies we have been learning about Canada during World War I, The Great Depression, and the Economic Boom after World War II. We have studied the impact on different areas of Canadian life, such as employment opportunities, agriculture, transportation, resources, etc. Using their knowledge, students completed a rating scale.

Transportation

Using this scale, students looked at the impact of WWI/The Great Depression/The Economic Boom and decided if it had a negative or positive impact on each of the areas above. They then filled in the scale accordingly. Students have been asked to bring their rating scales home to share with parents.

At home, discuss with your parents the decisions you made for each area and why. With your parents, discuss and decide on the order of these three dramatic events, and rate them in order from most negative to most positive impact (on Canadian life).
